TRAVEL VISAS

Passports are definitive proof of citizenship of a particular nationality. Your Passport is the single most important document you can have for Travel anywhere in the world. For some countries a Visa will not be necessary in order to Travel to them, but for most it will be required. It is now necessary by law that you have a Passport to prove your citizenship if you plan to Travel anywhere outside of the United States or your country of residence. The Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative (WHTI) requires all international travelers, even those bound only for Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean and Bermuda to present a passport.
Your U.S. Passport will help you in the case of emergency or if you are in need of assistance outside of the United States. A Birth Certificate, voter registration card, or drivers license are no longer valid ID for international Travel. Before you travel, always be sure to have a photocopy of your Passport accessible by e-mail in case your Passport becomes lost or stolen while you are abroad.
Also keep in mind that many countries, including China, Brazil, Russia, and India require that your passport be valid 6 months beyond your travel date.

Dept. Of State will be closed for Martin Luther King Jr. B-day

Most Embassies/Consulates will be closed on February 15th for Presidents day.

Brazil Visa Update:
As of 1/15/10, the government of Brazil no longer requires Brazil visa to be used within 90 days of issuance. The current processing time for India visa is approximately 8-10 business days. The consulate of Brazil asks that you please plan accordingly.

India Visa Update:
To avoid misuse of the tourist visa, the consulate of India now requires a 2 month wait between visits on tourist visa. The India visa is non-extendable and non-converable. The current processing time for India visa is approximately 2-3 business days. The consulate of India asks that you please plan accordingly.

Passport Update:
All international travelers, even those bound only for Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean and Bermuda must present a valid passport.


Russian tourist and business vouchers:
All new consular fees and visa processing times are in effect.
